Obituary for Fred William Cool

Fred William Cool
Fred William Cool, age 90, passed away at Whidbey General Hospital from a head injury. He peacefully joined his Lord and Savior on January 25, 2018.
Fred was born in Valley County, Montana on November 12, 1927 to Frederick and Ruth (Borum) Cool. He attended Harmony grade school in Larslan, Montana. Fred graduated from Glasgow High School and attended college at North Central Bible College (NCBC) in Minneapolis, Minnesota where he obtained his ministerial degree. While attending NCBC, Lois Montag and her friends wanted a ride to the park. Lois knew that Fred had a Buick so she asked him for a ride. Fred, already her secret admirer, gladly accepted and they were soon dating. Fred and Lois married on September 29, 1951 in Lois' hometown of Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

After their wedding they resided in Oshkosh. Fred and Lois were blessed with a son, Stephen Monte Cool, on July 15, 1952. On September 24, 1954, Wesley Frederic Cool joined their family. Upon Fred's dad's sudden death in December 1954, the Cools lived in Larslan, Montana during the farming season to help with the family farm. During the rest of the year, they resided at their home in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. In 1962, the Cool family permanently moved to Larslan, Montana to run the farm and raise sheep and pigs. Wendi Jo joined their family on October 4, 1965. Fred started Cool's Backhoe Service in 1975. Fred and Lois resided in their Larslan home until 2014 when they moved to Coupeville, Washington to be closer to their daughter and son-in-law.

Fred was a member and deacon of the Assembly of God church in Glasgow, Montana. Fred's relationship with Jesus Christ was the most important decision in his life. He lived a Christ filled life. Fred believed that it was important to read his Bible and pray at the beginning of every day. If you had the privilege of meeting Mr. Cool, you and your family were automatically added to his prayer list. He lived a life that reflected Christ and the Bible was his guide. Fred loved to joke and tease. He always had a smile to share. He left an impression on everyone he met. Fred loved his family.

Fred is survived by his wife and sweetheart of 66 years, Lois of Coupeville, Washington; son, Stephen (Carol) of Glasgow, Montana; grandson, Joseph (Jennifer) of Bardstown, KY; grandson, Justin (Amanda) of Calais, Maine; son, Wesley (Jackie) of Glendive, Montana; grandson, Treven (Alicia); great grandchildren, Peyton and Conall of Glendive, Montana; granddaughter, Trenna (Bob) Antonelli; great grandchildren, Jayden, Genesis, Noelle, Gabrielle of Rifle, Colorado ; daughter, Wendi Tow (Mike Anderson) of Oak Harbor, Washington; grandson, Micah Tow (Alexis Elsevier) of Oak Harbor, Washington; granddaughter, Chelsi (Sean) Simpson of Pinehurst, North Carolina; sister-in-law, Joanne (Montag) Ohlin and brother-in-law, John Ohlin of Springfield, Missouri; cousin, Conrad (Carol) Eckert of Stevensville, Montana and many cousins.
